Get the best wedding confetti photos at your eco-wedding
How to get the best confetti photos at your eco-wedding is just one questions. You might think “wow! Confetti at an eco wedding?!? How’s that possible?” check out my blog about how you can find truly environmentally friendly confetti here.
You’ll see, you don’t have to compromise on fun and great photos to be green.
Then come back here! And find out what you can do to get the best confetti photos at your eco-friendly wedding.
Steps you can take to get the best confetti photos at your eco-wedding
- Don’t let guests bring their own confetti. Buy the confetti for everyone.
This not only helps avoid the rather messy look a random mix of confetti colours, shapes, and weights can cause.
It will also assure that all confetti used at your wedding is eco-friendly. - Buy enough confetti!
Yes, the eco-wedding photographer who keeps banging on about not wasting resources tells you to get enough of it.
Because nothing ruins a good confetti photo like too little confetti. - Have a think about where you would like the confetti throw to happen.
Outdoors is usually best. But if it’s a rainy day and we have to take the photo indoors, it ideally should be in a well lit room with high ceilings.
Sometimes raining the confetti down from the staircase is the best option - You will have to decide whether to have a confetti tunnel, or a group photo.
For the confetti tunnel, your guests stay in a line either side of the walkway and you walk through while your guests throw the confetti. This is usually done coming out of church.
For the group photo, I will ask your guests to stay in a semi-circle around you and I will count them down so everyone throws the confetti at the same time.
There is pros and cons with both of these, and we will talk about them when we talk about your confetti photos.
What I will do to get the best confetti photos at your eco-wedding
I am not going to bore you with technical details and camera settings. If you are a bit geeky and want to know them, feel free to ask.
Here is the things I do that might mean something to you:
- I can help with deciding on a location if you can’t decide between two
- I will make sure your guests stand in the right place for the best result.
It’s impossible to through confetti if you are too close or way to far away. - I will remind your guests to throw the confetti upwards rather than right at you.
We want to create a rain of confetti, and I will remind your guests of how to achieve this.
The effect of a confetti cannon fired straight at you is great for comic value, so I don’t knock it. But it needs no encouragement since there is always someone who will do it. - I will count down to have everyone throw their confetti together, creating a beautiful rain of petals that will make your wedding confetti photos look great.
Planning for confetti photos
I understand how important the confetti photos and getting them right is.
That’s why we will talk about your vision for your confetti photos during our pre-wedding call. I’m here to advice on the best way of creating them.
And remember: ask your venue whether they allow your chosen type of confetti before ordering it.
If you are at the start of your confetti planning journey, you might find this blog about finding truly eco-friendly confetti and avoiding falling for greenwashing marketing helpful.
