A Summer Wedding  Reception – Mill House Wedding Photographer Reading

As the Mill House Wedding Photographer, I was a bit sad to hear that the ceremony had to be held elsewhere. This venue just has the most beautiful outdoor wedding space.
But wow! What a fantastic wedding reception my super sweet couple and their lovely guests had.

Take a quick peek at this beautiful and fun summer wedding at the Mill House in Reading, Berkshire.

After the ceremony, we returned to the Mill House, the children enjoyed their personalised goody bags, that successfully prevented boredom during the (for kids ! ) boring parts of the wedding.

Speeches can be fun. And they certainly were at this fun couple’s wedding.

But, there are rules…

Speeches rule 1:

Grooms, don’t try to surprise your bride with sudden, unprecedented outbursts of romance or an unexpected lengthly speech!

She’ll wonder who wrote your speech.

Speeches rule 2:
Speeches rule 2:
If moved to tears, never accept a tissue from your dad! It might not be a tissue.
(Practical dad jokes can be funny though for those watching on)

It was a very warm day, and the aircon worked overtime. But with plenty of outside space and clear skies, the relaxed celebrations soon continued outside.

Special thanks go to the groom for placing himself right under the just married sign. Hand on heart, I did not direct or stage this!

In fact, I staged non of the photos I am sharing in this blog post.

You can’t stage real emotion anyway, that’s why I make sure to be in the right place at the right time.

Ok, I do guide the couples portraits – but just a little bit.

It is more giving you guidance and ideas. No stiff posing! I belive you should enjoy having your wedding portraits taken, because then they look natural and at their best.

There were plenty of lawn games for the children, and the adults.

So everyone was entertained and had fun. Though I am sure some of those games were for the children, yet the adults… What is it about archery with a suction cap arrow that grown-ups can’t resist?

Sometimes you just don’t have time for a high-five when you are four.

“But I’m sure you can find an adult to stand in, since they rarely have anything interesting to do”, said 4-year-old child.
The children did get to play with some of the lawn games eventually!

Games and fresh air make hungry.

Meaning at some point, it was time to move on with the scheduled parts of the wedding, like caaaake.

Bride was asked by one guest to do a “proper cake cutting face”. Apparently this is it. (Nadina shrugs) Aren’t my couple’s the best, they even make the formal photos fun!

But isn’t it a shame that such a beautiful pastel cake decorated with the most delicate sugar flower needs to be cut and eaten.

Oh well! Looks like it was delicious!

And then of course, the cake was followed straight away by the first dance.

This couple gave me my all time favourite first dance photo. So much love and warmth.

I honestly can’t remember the song of the first dance, this doesn’t happen often! I love music.
But can you blame me, when the couple brings all the kids on the dancefloor at the end of the first dance and then dance to We Don’t Talk About Bruno !?

I will leave you with these fun dancefloor impressions and a cute quote on the venue stair case, while I go and watch a certain Disney movie…
