Stoke Place Wedding Photographer:
a Perfect Day!
I was very excited when this enquiry dropped into my inbox.
Not only because I had met the bride at her brother’s wedding many years ago and knew how lovely the family is, but also because of the venue they had chosen.
So let me tell you how I came to be their Stoke Place wedding photographer Buckinghamshire.
If you love the idea of an outdoor wedding, but dread the threat of rainy weather, then Stoke Place is just the ticket.
Many of my couples shy away from stately homes because they expect the outside space will be manicured into formal gardens which look beautiful but are a no-go no-play sort of place. Stoke Place is different!
At Stoke Place they have struck the perfect balance between beauty and nature. Between formal and fun.
You will find beautiful shrubs and flowers flanking the very practical, huge lawn which is definitely meant to be walked, sat and played on.
Stretching away from the house and bordering a small woodland is a big lake filled with water lilies and swans.
Well, are you in love with it yet?
Then let me show you what a beautiful wedding we had at this stunning venue with my carefully selected highlights of the day.
Stoke Place Wedding Photography Coverage
We began my photography coverage with the usual and very important detail: the dress. And what a stunner it was!
This dress had it all! It elegantly blended colour with the traditional white wedding dress by layering white organza embellished with floral embroidery and sparkles over a layer of soft pink satin.
I am a big fan of colour and sparkles :o)
But you’ll have to wait to see it because the dress always looks best on!
Alright, here is a little teaser.
Of course, the dress is not the only detail photos I took.
There are the other beautiful players like rings, flowers, shoes, bridesmaids’ dresses etc…here are just a few of them.
Part of the getting ready shoot is, of course, the bride having her make-up and hair done.
Stoke Place Wedding Venue Slough
The venue is ready.
And the Toastmaster is there to welcome the guests and direct them to the ceremony room.
The Wedding Ceremony at Stoke Place, Slough
The registrar’s big book is a thing of the past, meaning I can capture your actual signing of the register. This means you will have more natural looking photos than the posed photos we used to do and a true record of your day.
Public services announcement:
If you put wedding confetti on the seats at your ceremony, there is always someone who can’t wait until you are outside before throwing the confetti.
(It’s more often one of the over-20s than one of the under-10s)
Stoke Place Wedding Photographer capturing the Drinks Reception
I love this time of the celebration. It is the best time of the wedding day to take candid photos. Everyone is in a celebratory mood and no one is tired yet, not even the children.
Please note that I only share photos of children in my blogs where they are not easily recognised or I have permission to share. But don’t worry, I will take plenty of photos capturing your child guests’ expressive faces.
The Group Photos
After everyone had a chance to congratulate the happy couple, we took the group photos. Get them out of the way early!
I am not going to put them on here, because, let’s be honest, they are boring to anyone but the people who were there…ok, two exceptions: a confetti photo and the three generation of boys.
What you’ll put in your album:
…vs what it is really like taking confetti photos: see groom’s face
I only get booked by fun couples with super fun guests, and here is proof:
The three generations photo was not one we had on our group shots list, but an ad-hoc request by a proud grand-dad.
Of course, everyone happily obliged, the baby by sleeping right through it 🙂
Quick, relaxed and natural couples photos with and without baby
With all the official things done, it’s back to celebrating!
Most of the time, you won’t know I am there.
But occasionally, I do get spotted…Hey, I’m unintrusive, not invisible!
…and sometimes some beautiful people ask me to take a quick photo… which I am happy to do.
I’m a Stoke Place Wedding Photographer after all.
…and then I come across some silly staged selfie things!
Apart from the groom, I don’t think anyone noticed that I was standing just behind their mate with the mobile…which must be proof that men get distracted by jewellery, too.
…and then the ladies copy the silly staged selfie thing the men did!
But at least they thought to get the Stoke Place wedding photographer to take the photo for them…so they can all be in the photo.
Time for food and speeches
There is always one… who brings a slice of toast!
Yes, the joke is old. Yes, the joke is cheesy. But it does get everyone giggling.
After the food, we had a bit of time for more mingling and fun before the evening reception.
He was obviously the best dressed guest of the day.
Or maybe I just think that because I love a dog at a wedding :o)
The evening reception: cutting the cake, the first dance and lots of fun
The day is always over much quicker than you anticipate, that’s why I endeavour to capture every detail and all the smiles, so you can revisit them whenever you want.
